Korean War Veterans Honored on June 15th at “Live!  From the Ultra Lounge” Performance

Columbia, S.C. (June 15, 2013) Korean War Veterans were honored at the “Live!  From the Ultra Lounge” performance, held at 8 p.m. on June 15, 2013 at the Koger Center for the Arts. 
  The Celebrate Freedom Foundation — partnering with the S.C. Philharmonic Orchestra — hosted the performance featuring the group, Five By Design, as part of CFF’s 15th Annual Festival and Concert.
  The group, with the orchestra, highlighted hits of the late 1940s and early 1950s by Bobby Darin, Rosemary Clooney and Wayne Newton.  Hits included “Pop Goes The Weasel,” “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” and “Istanbul.”

Retired Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant Wins 2013 Celebrate Freedom Foundation’s Classic Car Show

     GySgt George McCaw, USMC (Ret.), of Orangeburg won Celebrate Freedom Foundation’ 2013 Classic Car Show on June 15.  George McCaw’s wife, Janette, gave him the 1948 Chevy Coupe — once called a “hot rod” and now called a “street rod” — about nine years ago.  McCaw began restoring the car in 2009, and his wife died on May 11, 2011 a month before the restoration was completed.  His 1948 Chevy Coupe has won 12 awards (including this award) in the 12 competitions he has entered since 2011.  Congratulations Mr. McCaw and Semper Fi!
